My Journey
I grew up as a shy child in Mumbai, India—afraid to speak my mind, hesitant to talk in front of a group, and always finding ways to avoid being called on. It wasn’t until my psychiatry residency that I recognized my struggles with anxiety—a treatable condition. Looking back, I regret the opportunities I lost to fear, but that realization became the driving force behind my career in psychiatry.
I began my medical education at D.Y. Patil Medical School in India, followed by psychiatry training in Mumbai. I then pursued my psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York.
Along the way, I was fortunate to learn from inspiring mentors whose words have stayed with me:
"There is always hope in our field. Kids are resilient, and with the right help, they can thrive."
Hope is what fuels my work, and it’s what I bring to every patient and family I care for
Beyond my work , I love exploring the outdoors through long treks , skiing and swimming. As a parent of two young children , I understand the joys and challenges of raising a family , and this personal experience deeply informs my work with parents and children .
